General Dentist Dr. Martin Reiss — sometimes called “Doc Martin” (not to be confused with the shoemaker) — is a passionate smile maker. His interest in dentistry stems from a love of learning. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Biology at McMaster University and continued at the University of Western Ontario, where he received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During his studies, he was honoured with the Dr. Sam Ioannidis Memorial Award in Restorative Dentistry, the Schulich Dentistry Prize for Professionalism and Ethics, and the award in Oral Medicine. A lifelong learner, Dr. Reiss has embraced dentistry as a career that allows him to continually expand his skills while connecting with his patients. General Dentist – Oral Surgery Dr. Barbad Zamiri completed his general dentistry degree at Shiraz University of Medical Sciences in Shiraz, Iran, in 1989. He then pursued training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at the National Iranian University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, graduating in 1996. In Iran, Dr. Zamiri practiced Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Since relocating to Canada, he has focused on general dentistry with an emphasis on oral surgery-related procedures. Dr. Zamiri is a member of several professional associations, including the Ontario Dental Association (ODA), the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO), the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the Iranian Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. Outside of practice, he enjoys staying active through biking and supports charitable organizations in his home country.

Periodontist Dr. Fernanda Barona is a periodontist with a focus on treating periodontal and implant-related conditions. She earned her dental degree in 2012 from the Catholic University of Guayaquil in Ecuador and completed her Master’s in Craniofacial Science along with postgraduate specialty training in Periodontics at the University of British Columbia in 2017. She is a fellow-elect of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology. Her research has focused on the use of leukocyte- and platelet-rich fibrin in periodontal procedures and in implant and gingival reconstructions. Outside the clinic, Dr. Barona enjoys spending time with her husband, Jason, and participating in outdoor activities such as skiing. She is also a foodie and coffee enthusiast.
