Absolutely not! You won’t experience any pain during your treatment because sedation keeps you relaxed and comfortable. If you feel a little sleepy afterward, don’t worry! We’ll be here to support your healing.
What is the duration of the sedation?
It depends on the type of sedation, but sedation usually wears off in a few hours. We will let you know what to expect and how to feel good afterward.
Is sedation dentistry safe?
Absolutely! We use safe methods. During your appointment, we will check your health ahead of sedation to make sure it is safe for you to have the sedation. We will walk you through everything to stay calm.
After sedation, can I resume my day?
After that, you may want to take a nap, especially if you’re feeling sleepy. It’s easy to organize your day with our simple suggestions.
What should I do if I knock a tooth out?
If you knock a tooth out, hold the tooth by the crown (not the root), rinse it gently, and try to stick it back in its socket. If you cannot stick it back in, keep it in a cup of milk or saline and call us immediately. Time counts—please try to come see us within 30 to 60 minutes.
How do I know if my tooth pain is an emergency?

Can I go to the ER for a dental emergency?
Hospital emergency rooms are not usually equipped to treat dental emergencies. If you have a toothache or oral injury, it is better to visit a dentist, like 9th Avenue Dental, who can address the dental problem immediately.
What happens if my crown or filling comes out?
If your crown or filling comes out, try to save the piece and avoid chewing on that side. Call us as soon as possible. We may be able to fix or replace your crown or filling, protecting the tooth underneath from further damage.
