Their FAQ

Answers from their website.

Do you accept student insurance plans?

Yes! We accept a variety of student insurance plans, including those offered through the University of Calgary. If you’re unsure whether your plan is covered, our team is happy to verify your benefits before your appointment.

Where are you located on campus?

We are conveniently located on campus at the McEwan Student Center on the second floor.

Do you follow the provincial fee guide?

Yes, at University of Calgary Dental Choice, our clinic adheres to the Alberta Dental Fee Guide, updated each year on January 1st by the Alberta Dental Association and College. This guide sets recommended fees for dental services, ensuring consistency and transparency in care. It is also commonly used by insurance providers to determine coverage, making it a valuable resource for both our patients and their dental benefits.

How should I prepare for my first appointment?

For your first appointment with our NW Calgary dentist, please bring your health card, insurance details, and any recent dental records or X-rays. We also suggest arriving 5–10 minutes early to complete check-in and any necessary forms.

Is sedation dentistry safe?

When done by trained dental professionals who monitor you through the procedure, yes, it’s safe.

Will I be asleep during the treatment?

Most often, you will stay awake, aware, and able to communicate; sedation will relax you.

How long does it take for the sedation to wear off?

Depending on the kind of sedation used, the patient usually recovers quickly. The effect of the mildest sedatives wears off after some time. Deeper forms can take a few hours before they are back to normal.

Can children receive sedation dentistry?

Yes, some sedation may be safe for children when prescribed by the dentist at times.
