During your visit, our team takes the time to teach your child proper brushing and flossing techniques. We recommend assisting your child with brushing until they have the manual dexterity to do it effectively on their own, and maintaining a diet low in sugary snacks and drinks.
What counts as a dental emergency?
A dental emergency typically involves severe pain, uncontrollable bleeding, a knocked-out tooth, or a facial injury that affects the mouth. Other common emergencies include a cracked or fractured tooth, a lost filling or crown, or a painful abscess/infection.
What should I do if a permanent tooth is knocked out?
Time is critical. Try to find the tooth, hold it by the crown (not the root), and gently rinse it if it’s dirty. If possible, try to place it back in the socket. If not, keep it moist in a container of milk or saliva and contact us immediately for an emergency appointment.
How soon can I be seen for an emergency?
We strive to see emergency cases as quickly as possible, often on the same day. If you are experiencing pain or a dental injury, please call our office right away so we can prioritize your care and provide instructions over the phone.
Do you offer direct billing for emergency dental visits?
To help ease the stress of an unexpected visit, we direct bill to the patient’s primary benefits provider. Our team can also assist with the coordination of secondary benefits if required, ensuring you can focus on your recovery rather than the paperwork.
