Their FAQ
Answers from their website.
Am I eligible for CDCP at Sauga Smiles Dental?
You may be eligible if your household income is under $90,000, you filed a tax return in the previous year, you are a Canadian resident for tax purposes, and you do not have access to existing private dental insurance. Sauga Smiles Dental can help you verify your specific eligibility.
What does CDCP cover?
CDCP coverage spans preventive care, diagnostic services, restorative treatment, endodontic treatment (like root canals), prosthodontic treatment (like dentures), periodontal treatment, and oral surgery, though the specific amount covered depends on your plan and the treatment.
When did CDCP become available to my age group?
Coverage rolled out in stages: seniors 65 and older in December 2023, children under 18 and adults with the Disability Tax Credit in June 2024, adults 55 to 64 starting May 1, 2025, adults 18 to 34 starting May 15, 2025, and adults 35 to 54 starting May 29, 2025.
Do I need to pay upfront if I have CDCP at Sauga Smiles Dental?
As an approved CDCP provider, Sauga Smiles Dental can see eligible patients without collecting the full cost upfront. The team helps verify your eligibility and coverage before your visit.
How do I apply for CDCP?
Applications go through the federal government's CDCP application process. Sauga Smiles Dental can help answer questions about how coverage applies once you have applied, and can assist with verifying your enrollment when you book.
Does Sauga Smiles Dental accept walk-ins?
Yes. Walk-ins are welcome at Sauga Smiles Dental, though calling 905-277-1560 ahead of time helps the team fit you in faster, especially on busier days.
What should I bring to my first appointment?
Bring a photo ID, your insurance card if you have one, a list of current medications, and any previous dental records or X-rays you have access to. None of these are required to be seen, but they help the exam go faster.
Does Sauga Smiles Dental offer free consultations?
