Are you really open on Sundays?
Yes. Cedarbrae Dental Center is open seven days a week, including Sunday, which is unusual for a dental office. Our hours are 9 am to 5 pm, with later hours until 6 pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays, weekends included. That means you can often be seen the same day for an emergency instead of waiting out a weekend in pain.
Do you see dental emergencies the same day?
We keep room in our schedule for urgent problems and aim to see dental emergencies the same day whenever possible, seven days a week. If you have a knocked-out or broken tooth, swelling, or severe pain, call us as early in the day as you can so we can prioritise you. If we cannot reach you quickly by phone, sending the appointment request lets us call you back to arrange care.
Which languages does your team speak?
Our team speaks nine languages: English, Urdu, Hindi, Arabic, Gujarati, Spanish, Pashto, Tagalog, and Dari. If you are more comfortable discussing your care in one of these, let us know when you book and we will make sure someone who speaks your language is part of your visit. Clear communication matters most when we are explaining treatment options, so we take the time to make sure you fully understand your choices before anything begins.
Do you treat children?
Yes. We see children and welcome whole families, so parents and kids can often be seen in the same visit. Our approach with young patients is gentle and unhurried — we explain each step in words they understand and let them get comfortable at their own pace. Regular checkups from an early age help children build healthy habits and feel at ease at the dentist for the rest of their lives.
How do I pay, and do you take insurance and CDCP?
We work with most dental insurance plans and are glad to help you understand your coverage before treatment. Our front-desk team can submit claims on your behalf where your plan allows. We also see patients through the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). Bring your plan or CDCP details to your visit, and we will walk you through what is covered and answer any questions so there are no surprises.
Where do I park?
We are located at 3630 Lawrence Avenue East in Scarborough, with free parking available in the plaza. If you are taking transit, the TTC 54 and 954 Lawrence East buses stop right at our door. The clinic is easy to reach whether you are driving or coming by bus, and there is no need to worry about metered parking or a long walk from your car.
Is the appointment form a confirmed booking?
Not quite — sending the form is a request, not a locked-in appointment. Once we receive it, a member of our team will contact you to confirm the date and time and answer any questions before your visit. This lets us match you with the right dentist and enough time for your needs. If your situation is urgent, calling us during opening hours is the fastest way to be seen.
What is a Crown and Bridge Award?
It is a recognition given at dental school, in Dr. Rizvi's case at the University of Toronto, for strong work in crown and bridge dentistry, which is the restorative field concerned with rebuilding and replacing damaged or missing teeth. Crowns cap and protect individual teeth, while bridges span a gap where a tooth is missing. The award reflects skill in that restorative area during his training; it is an academic acknowledgment rather than a specialty title.
