BMSc, DDS, MClD, FRCDC Dr. Steven Ma graduated with a Bachelors of Medical Science and earned his Doctorate in Dentistry from the University of Alberta with honours on the Dean’s list. Upon graduating from dental school, Dr. Ma was accepted into the prestigious Advanced Education in General Dentistry residency at Boston University, where he refined his skills in Cosmetic Dentistry, Oral Surgery, and Periodontal surgery. Dr. Ma practiced as a general dentist in private practice for 6 years before pursuing his passion in Orthodontics. He completed his specialty training in Orthodontics and a Masters of Clinical Dentistry at the University of Western Ontario. She was recognized with several awards for outstanding academic achievement including the Dr. Alan K. Joe and Family Scholarship in Orthodontics. She then completed her General Program Residency (GPR) at the Hospital for Sick Children where she managed dental trauma and multi-disciplinary dental management of medically compromised children. She then completed her orthodontic training at the University of Michigan, where she received her specialty Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Science degree. Her thesis research on Invisalign was published in the American Journal of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Sam has practiced for over fourteen years in Alberta and Ontario, first as a general dentist, then as an Orthodontist. He completed his Doctor of Dental Surgery at Dalhousie University in Halifax. Dr. Sam worked as a general dentist in Edmonton for several years before he completed his Master Degree in Orthodontics at the University of Alberta in 2011. After acquiring her undergraduate Biochemistry degree at Western University, she secured a spot in the Western University dental program. DDS, Cert. Ortho, frcd (C) Dr. Efrat Pearlman is a board certified orthodontist and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada. She obtained her dental degree from Case Western Reserve University and a certificate in orthodontics at St. Barnabas Hospital in affiliation with Columbia University in New York City. In addition, she completed a residency at Manhattan’s Mount Sinai Hospital. During her orthodontic residency Dr. Pearlman served as chief resident and received numerous awards including the top award for research and the award for the most patient-dedicated resident. She completed her undergraduate degree at the University of Western Ontario and then made the move to Boston, Massachusetts to pursue her dental degree at the Boston University Henry M. After completing her dental degree, she was admitted to the Orthodontic Program at the University of Buffalo, where she obtained her Certificate in Orthodontics and a Masters in Oral Sciences. She then went on to complete a Master in Clinical Orthodontics degree at the University of Western Ontario. During both dental school and the specialty Orthodontics program, she was honored with several awards for both outstanding academic achievement and for demonstration of compassion and organization.
