Their FAQ

Answers from their website.

What should I do if I have a dental emergency in downtown Vancouver?

Call Coastal City Dunsmuir Dental Centre at 604-681-6699 or book online as soon as possible. Let our team know your symptoms, when they started, and whether you are dealing with swelling, trauma, severe pain, or broken dental work.

Can I get a same-day emergency dentist appointment in Vancouver?

Same-day appointments are available depending on our daily schedule and the type of emergency. For severe tooth pain, swelling, or a broken tooth, please call us as early in the day as possible.

Is a severe toothache a dental emergency?

Yes. A toothache that is constant, worsening, keeping you awake, or highly painful when biting is a dental emergency that requires a prompt exam to diagnose underlying issues like decay, infection, or nerve inflammation.

What should I do if my tooth breaks or chips?

Call a dentist immediately, especially if the tooth is bleeding, sharp, or highly sensitive. Avoid chewing on that side of your mouth until Dr. Bae can evaluate the damage.

What should I do if my crown falls off?

Keep the crown safe and call our office promptly. Do not use household glues to reattach it, as this can permanently damage the tooth structure underneath.

Do I need antibiotics for a dental abscess?

Antibiotics are often prescribed to control spreading swelling or infections, but they do not cure the source of an abscess. Definitive dental treatment, such as a root canal or extraction, is still required.

When should I go to the hospital for a dental emergency?

Go directly to the nearest emergency room if you experience rapidly spreading facial swelling, difficulty breathing or swallowing, a high fever, or swelling extending near the eye or neck.

How much does an emergency dentist cost in Vancouver?

Costs vary based on the required treatment. We follow the standard BCDA fee guide, with emergency exams and necessary X-rays typically falling in the low hundreds before insurance.
