As many of you already know, Dr. Bethel will be retiring soon, so I will be taking over the dental care for some of you. I was born and raised in Vancouver, trained at the UBC Dental School, and have been in practice for the past 29 years. During this time I worked mainly as the owner of a dental practice in Surrey. When the opportunity came up to join Fraserhood Dental, I gladly agreed, as the clinic is closer to my home in Vancouver. Understandably, there may be some apprehension and uncertainty about seeing a new dentist. Let me assure you that I will do my best to get to know you and to take care of your dental needs. Dr. Steven Tsao was born and raised in beautiful Vancouver BC. He completed his Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biochemisty at the University of British Columbia. Following that, he continued at the UBC Dental School where he obtained his Doctorate of Dental Medicine (DMD). Dr. Tsao is a certified Invisalign provider and is a member of the Northwest Endodontics Study Club. He also maintains his continuing education by being a member of the Vancouver District and Dental Society and the Chinese Canadian Dental Society of British Columbia. In his spare time Dr. Tsao plays on a recreational ice hockey team. He is also an active runner having participated in 3 full marathons and multiple half marathons.

Dr. Melody Lu graduated with a Doctorate of Dental Medicine from UBC. Having emigrated from Shanghai, China at the age of 14, she and her family have been living in Vancouver ever since. She worked at BC Cancer Research working on fetal DNA in maternal blood stream prior to her work in the field of Dentistry. As a dentist, Dr. Lu loves the hands-on experience and the patient communication aspects of her work. She believes that helping to inform patients about their dental care is key to improving her patients' oral health. She currently volunteers at the Vancouver Aboriginal Health Society Dental Clinic to provide dental support to the local underprivileged population of Vancouver. Dr. Lu provides general dental services and is committed to improving her skills through ongoing continuing education.
