Their FAQ

How Does Professional, In-Office Teeth Whitening Work?

When you visit us for Vancouver teeth whitening treatment, you’ll cozy on up in a chair so that Dr. Sahi can examine your teeth and gums. This way, she’ll be able to make sure whitening will be safe and effective for you. Once you get the green light, you’ll choose your shade. A specially designed light will activate the whitening gel and the solution will break down stains. The whole process takes less than an hour and with perks like TVs and headphones, you can relax while your smile gets brighter. Before you leave, we’ll give you post-whitening instructions to help your results last as long as possible.

Is Teeth Whitening Safe?

Yup! Even though the whitening solution we use is stronger than anything you can get over-the-counter, it’s formulated to be safe for enamel. We’ll make sure your tooth roots and gums are protected as well to prevent sensitivity from occurring. While most people can get a brighter smile with professional teeth whitening, our Vancouver cosmetic dentist will assess your teeth and gums first to ensure you’re a candidate. We don’t recommend the procedure for children under the age of 13 or women who are pregnant or breastfeeding.

Why Should You Visit Nest For Vancouver Teeth Whitening Treatment?

We have: A beautiful, soothing office Clinically proven whitening treatment that gives you results you can’t achieve with over-the-counter products in less than an hour TVs so you can watch a show while you brighten your smile A caring, knowledgeable dentist and team A safe, clean environment complete with air purification systems and medical-grade sterilization Transparent pricing and flexible financing

What Types Of Dental Sedation Do You Offer?

At Nest, we offer a variety of different types of dental sedation in Vancouver. Once Dr. Sonia Sahi has a chance to evaluate your health history and needs, she’ll be able to help you choose the best type for your situation. Options include: Oral Conscious Sedation Oral dental sedation involves taking a medication by mouth before an appointment. Depending on the procedure, your medical history and the length of your appointment, Dr. Sahi will discuss what type of sedative will be the most appropriate. Oral sedation can offer moderate sedation and is meant to help you feel relaxed and comfortable. While patients do occasionally fall asleep, you’ll be conscious throughout your visit, aware of what’s going on and able to respond to commands. We’ll give you detailed instructions to follow before and after your procedure. In most cases, you’ll take the medication about 30 minutes to an hour be…

Is Sedation Dentistry Safe?

Yes! Sedation dentistry is safe for children, teenagers and adults. Our Vancouver dentist, Dr. Sonia Sahi, evaluates your health history, medications and needs to determine if you’re a candidate for sedation. At Nest, we exceed all safety standards and use modern technology and tools, including monitoring equipment to continuously monitor your vital signs. Our staff is certified in CPR and we have team members who are also certified in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).

Who Can Benefit From Sedation Dentistry?

Dental Sedation Might Be Recommended For: Patients with moderate to severe dental anxiety Infants and young children who need extensive dental work Those having surgical procedures, such as wisdom tooth removal or dental implants Patients with special health care needs or conditions that make undergoing dental procedures difficult Individuals who can’t sit still to safely get the care they need Patients with a severe gag reflex, sensitive oral nerves or resistance to local anesthetic who would otherwise be uncomfortable

Are There Instructions I’ll Need To Follow If I’m Being Sedated?

We always give our Vancouver sedation dentistry patients detailed pre- and post-sedation instructions. Some Of The Guidelines Include: If you’re being sedated, you’ll need to bring a responsible adult with you to your appointment, so that they can help you get home safely. If you opt for oral conscious or nitrous oxide sedation, you can have a light meal before your procedure. If you’ll be receiving IV sedation, don’t eat or drink anything aside from small sips of water for six hours before your appointment. Take all of your prescribed medication with a few sips of water unless we tell you otherwise. Wear loose, comfortable clothing and flat shoes to your appointment, especially if you’ll be getting IV sedation. Plan to spend the remainder of your day resting after IV sedation. Don’t drive or do anything too strenuous.

What’s Considered A Dental Emergency?

While we offer emergency dental services in Vancouver, Nest also provides general dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, implant dentistry and oral surgery. So, if you ever experience discomfort in your mouth or have any type of dental concern, don’t hesitate to call our office. We’ll always schedule you for a visit promptly.
