He completed his D.M.D at the University of Manitoba Faculty of Dentistry in 2022. Subsequently, he decided to continue his education, pursuing an Advanced Education in General Dentistry and completed the certificate program at the University of Connecticut in 2023. After spending a significant part of his life in Israel, he and his family decided to make a home in Canada. He comes from a family of dental professionals, with his grandfather and father being a lab technician and a denturist. Their choice of profession inspired Dr. Alex to become a dentist. What is the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
The CDCP is a federal program designed to remove financial barriers to dental care. Eligible Canadian residents receive financial assistance for essential oral health services including cleanings, fillings, crowns, root canals, extractions, and more.
Who is eligible for the CDCP?
To qualify you must meet all 4 requirements: no access to dental insurance, file tax returns in Canada, adjusted family net income under $90,000, and be a Canadian resident for tax purposes. Coverage is currently available to adults over 65, children under 18, and adults with a valid Disability Tax Credit certificate. The program is expected to open to all eligible adults aged 19-64 in 2025.
How much does the CDCP cover?
The highest level of CDCP coverage represents 74% of the provincial fee guide's prices for dental procedures. The exact amount depends on your income level.
