Are there different styles of braces available?
Yes. At our Winnipeg office, we offer metal braces, clear braces, and clear aligners. Metal braces are the classic option and work for nearly any case. Clear braces use tooth-colored brackets that blend in with your smile. Clear aligners are removable trays that are nearly invisible.
Do braces hurt and how do I care for them?
You may feel some soreness for a few days after each adjustment, but it usually fades quickly. To care for your braces, brush after every meal, floss daily with a floss threader or water flosser, and avoid hard or sticky foods like caramel, popcorn kernels, and ice. Regular visits keep everything on track.

How long does clear aligner treatment take?
Most clear aligner cases take between 6 and 18 months. Mild crowding or small gaps can be corrected in less than a year, while more involved cases take longer. Wearing your aligners 20 to 22 hours a day keeps your treatment on schedule.
Do clear aligners hurt?
Clear aligners are designed to be comfortable. You may feel some pressure or tightness for a day or two when you switch to a new tray, which is a sign the aligners are working. Families regularly tell us the sensation fades quickly and feels much milder than they expected.
