Check-up and cleaning

Questions to ask
  • Are you taking new patients, and when is the first opening for a new-patient exam and cleaning?
  • What will the exam, X-rays and cleaning cost, and what will my insurance or the dental care plan cover?

Cost and paying

How you can pay
Payment plans
Before treatment, ask
  • What’s the total, including the exam and X-rays?
  • How much will my insurance or the dental care plan cover?
  • Does anything cost more than the provincial fee guide?

They don’t post prices online. For a rough idea, see what patients across Canada said they paid.

Dr. Nicholas Yap
Dentist
Read bio

Dr. Nicholas Yap graduated from the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry at Western University in 2020. He moved to Ancaster with his wife and began caring for patients throughout the Hamilton, Stoney Creek, and Niagara regions. His journey into dentistry began at just four years old during his first dental visit. The positive experience—and the mentorship he later received from his childhood dentist—sparked an early passion for the profession that has stayed with him ever since. What he enjoys most about being a dentist is building lasting relationships with patients and their families, and having the privilege of watching those families grow over time. Outside of dentistry, he enjoys playing basketball and board games, and he and his wife have recently taken up pickleball. They also love to travel, and trying new restaurants is one of their favourite ways to explore new places.

Dentistry appeals to me in many ways. Whether it is the challenging detail, the satisfaction of a happy patient, or the highly aesthetic blend of science, technology, and materials with natural teeth—dentistry fascinates me. Dentistry in general and my specialty, prosthodontics in particular, fully satisfy my love of working with my hands to create functional and therapeutic art. MEET DR. PEDLAR

Google’s rating and review total change every day, so we round them down (like 4.5+ stars or 250+ reviews) to stay accurate until our next update. See today’s reviews on Google ↗
