Dr. Darren Leung’s path to dentistry began in the scenic landscapes of British Columbia, where he was born and raised. Desperate for an escape from a lifetime of servile labour, the answer to his prayers arrived in the form of a full undergraduate scholarship to the University of British Columbia (UBC). After eight years of toil, and burning through plenty of midnight oil, he emerged with a Bachelor of Science with Honours in Mathematics (2003) and a DMD degree (2007). This, however, was just the beginning. Early in his career, Dr. Virk witnessed the powerful impact dentistry can have on the quality of patients’ lives. This ignited his passion for advanced training in the fields of cosmetic and implant dentistry. The next two decades involved over 2500 hours of advanced training, along with serving as a clinical instructor at UBC. Having published and lectured on advanced implant surgical techniques,…
