Dynamic Dental’s Dr. Vranjes spent his childhood summers working in his father’s denture clinic and lab, and as such, has had a lot of experience working with dentures and getting a correct and comfortable fit for his patients. Dr. Chrbet grew up in Calgary and graduated in 2014 from the University of Alberta with her Doctor of Dental Surgery Degree. Dr. Chrbet loves seeing patients of all ages and has a particular interest in crowns/bridges, veneers and basic restorative work such as white fillings. I have heard some of my friends talk about ‘sleep dentistry’- can you do that?
Absolutely. Some people are very anxious about coming to the dentist and some are nervous about certain procedures, requiring something more than ‘freezing’. Although we strive to provide very gentle dentistry, should you require more than local anesthetic (freezing), Dr. Vranjes is qualified to offer Nitrous oxide and Oral sedation. Should this interest you, please mention it to Michele when you call.
At what age should I first bring my child to the dentist?
We encourage children over the age of 1 to come for a dental visit. Creating a positive experience the first time a child visits the office goes a long way to making them less nervous at subsequent appointments.
What kinds of insurance do you accept?
We accept both private and employer sponsored dental insurance and can electronically process claims on your behalf using our computer system. Dental coverage, with many employers, is part of your overall compensation. If you have the coverage, make the time in your schedule and take care of your dental health.
Do you accept referrals?
As a new office, we are accepting all patients. We hope to grow our practice through satisfied patients, so we strongly encourage referrals!
What if I have an emergency and your office is closed?
Please call the main office number (403.453.5588) and listen to the instructions on how to reach Dr. Vranjes, or other emergency care.
What kind of toothbrush should I use?
With a market loaded with toothbrushes with flashy colours, different shaped heads and all kinds of gizmos, it’s difficult to determine which one is best for oneself. Although some may have a particular advantage for you than others (and we’d be happy to discuss this with you), our advice is to pick a toothbrush with soft bristles and a comfortable handle. We also recommend certain electric toothbrushes.
What are the advantages and disadvantages of bleaching?
Bleaching is relatively inexpensive and usually brightens the teeth quickly and easily. However, it does not work equally well for everyone, and results are less predictable than with other procedures. Newly bleached teeth tend to fade in colour anywhere from a few weeks to a couple of years after bleaching. Very dark teeth, especially those stained from the use of the antibiotic tetracycline, tend to bleach the poorest. People who had white teeth that have been darkened or been stained from coffee, tea, tobacco or red wine usually get the best results. My breath has a terrible odour, but I brush my teeth everyday. Is there something you can do to help?
Many people struggle with halitosis, or bad breath, despite daily teeth brushing. The first step regarding halitosis, is to be sure to brush twice a day, floss and brush your tongue (preferably with a tongue scraper, which we can provide), have regular cleanings with a hygienist, and carefully clean dentures or other removable appliances. Should you still suffer from halitosis despite meticulous hygiene, come talk to us about a rinse treatment that can inhibit bacterial growth. Be sure to provide us with an updated list of medications as this can occasionally be the source of the problem.
