Their FAQ
Answers from their website.
How long do dental crowns last?
With proper care, dental crowns typically last 10-15 years or longer. Regular dental checkups, good oral hygiene, and avoiding habits like grinding your teeth or chewing ice will maximize the lifespan of your crown.
Do dental crowns look natural?
Yes. We use high-quality porcelain crowns that are custom-matched to the color, shape, and size of your natural teeth. Most people won't be able to tell you have a crown.
Is getting a dental crown painful?
No. The procedure is performed under local anesthesia, so you won't feel pain during treatment. Some patients experience mild sensitivity for a few days after, which typically resolves on its own. We'll provide care instructions to minimize discomfort.
How many appointments does it take to get a crown?
Most crowns require two appointments. During the first visit, we prepare your tooth and take impressions. You'll wear a temporary crown while your permanent crown is crafted (typically 2-3 weeks). On the second visit, we remove the temporary and permanently cement your custom crown.
What's the difference between a crown and a filling?
Fillings repair small areas of decay, while crowns cover and protect the entire visible portion of a tooth. Crowns are recommended when a tooth is too damaged for a filling, after a root canal, or to restore a cracked or severely worn tooth.
How is a dental bridge different from a dental implant?
A bridge uses your adjacent natural teeth for support to replace missing teeth, while an implant is surgically placed into your jawbone. Bridges are faster and less invasive, while implants don't require altering neighboring teeth. Dr. Mahajan will help you choose the best option based on your situation, budget, and timeline.
How long do dental bridges last?
With proper care, dental bridges typically last 10-15 years. Maintaining good oral hygiene and regular dental visits will help extend the life of your bridge.
Will a dental bridge feel natural?
Yes. After a short adjustment period (usually a few days), most patients report that their bridge feels completely natural. You'll be able to eat, speak, and smile with confidence.
