Their FAQ
Answers from their website.
Do you accept patients covered by the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?
Yes! We are happy to welcome anyone participating in the CDCP. Please give our office a call before booking your appointment at 403-286-5030 . You can also check out our CDCP page for more details.
Does Northland Smiles offer direct billing to insurance?
We file dental claims electronically on your behalf so you are reimbursed as quickly as possible. Payment is due at the time of your appointment, and we submit your claim directly to your insurer. All dental insurance plans are different — we recommend checking your benefit details before your visit.
What do I do if I have a dental emergency in Calgary?
Call our NW Calgary dental clinic at (403) 286-5030 if you are in pain or bleeding. We do our best to see emergency patients promptly. If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room.
Do you use sedation dentistry for nervous or anxious patients?
Yes. We understand that dental anxiety is very real. If sedation or general anesthesia would make your dental care easier and more comfortable, we will discuss your options and facilitate that. We encourage you to let us know about any anxiety when booking so we can prepare for your visit.
Do you perform dental services for children?
Yes, we provide dental treatment for children at our dental clinic. We want your child’s dental visit to be as easy and fun as possible. We work hard to provide comprehensive dental care to children in a way that makes them enjoy coming to the dentist.
Do you offer free consultations for new patients?
Yes, we offer a free meet-and-greet appointment for new patients who would like to get to know us before committing to care. You are also welcome to book directly for an exam and cleaning if you are ready to get started. No referral is needed.
What is the difference between a family dentist and a general dentist?
Family dental care is provided by a family or general dentist. There is no difference between these two types of dentists. They are one and the same. In Alberta, dentists are called general dentists, family dentists, cosmetic dentists and restorative dentists.
Are you a dental specialist?
Dental specialists went to school for an additional 2-6 years after dental school. At Northland Smiles, we are general dentists. If your treatment needs are complex and you require a dental specialist, we will happily arrange a referral.
