Meet Dr. Derek Bouma Dr. Derek Bouma was born and raised in Provost Alberta, a small town of around 2000 people, an hour south of Lloydminster. There he enjoyed playing hockey, quading, and snowmobiling. Growing up, Dr. Bouma helped his dad and grandfather in their respective family businesses, which taught him a lot about the importance of a strong work ethic, quality service, and customer care. He moved to Edmonton for University, receiving his Bachelor of Physical Science in 2010, and his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2014, both from the University of Alberta. Does Pathways Dental Clinic take all insurance policies? Do you bill directly?
Yes! We are pleased to accept all national plans, and we do direct billing for most insurance companies.
Is Pathways Dental Clinic open evenings and weekends?
Yes. Pathways Dental is open until 8:00 pm on most days, and we are pleased to offer evening appointments. For more convenience, we are also open every Saturday and some Sundays.
Does Pathways Dental Clinic offer any financing plans?
Yes. Pathways Dental is dedicated to making our client's dental experience as convenient as possible, and we work with third parties to get patients approved for financing at patients' request. We also work with you to prioritize a treatment plan that YOU choose, and one that is best suited for you. We do our best to help you understand what payment is due at each visit.

Yes! We have a very kid-friendly office, with a dedicated kid's playroom, sedation services such as nitrous, and friendly, patient staff who understand the specific and unique needs of children. We offer complimentary 'Happy Visits' for children under three years old, to encourage early visits and help create a lifetime of good oral care.
