Meet Dr. Adam Lei Dr. Adam Lei was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta, where his passion for music and service first took root. From a young age, he immersed himself in music lessons, mastering the piano, violin, and viola. Alongside his musical pursuits, Dr. Lei spent considerable time helping his parents manage their restaurant business, where he learned the importance of providing excellent care and customer service. While he didn’t pick up the art of cooking, he certainly enjoys discovering new restaurants and cuisines. From an early age, Dr. Lei was determined to pursue a career in healthcare. His academic journey began at Medicine Hat College, and after completing his studies, he transferred to the University of Alberta, where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree. Meet Dr. Derek Bouma Dr. Derek Bouma was born and raised in Provost Alberta, a small town of around 2000 people, an hour south of Lloydminster. There he enjoyed playing hockey, quading, and snowmobiling. Growing up, Dr. Bouma helped his dad and grandfather in their respective family businesses, which taught him a lot about the importance of a strong work ethic, quality service, and customer care. Dr. Bouma began his post-secondary studies at the University of Alberta, ultimately graduating from Griffith University in the Gold Coast of Australia. While completing his Graduate Diploma of Dentistry, he was selected to work with the Royal Flying Doctors Service under New South Wales Health, which provided fly-in, fly-out dental services to very remote areas of New South Wales. Meet Dr. Tony Kim Dr. Tony Kim was born in Seoul, South Korea. He moved to Edmonton for University, receiving his Bachelor of Physical Science in 2010, and his Doctor of Dental Surgery in 2014, both from the University of Alberta. Dr. Kim finds the entire practice of dentistry immensely rewarding and enjoys all aspects of it, whether it’s something as simple as restoring a cavity, or a more complex case like a root canal. He has a particular interest in Cosmetic Dentistry and Oral Surgery. Dentistry has always been a part of Dr. Kim’s life. Growing up, he spent a great deal of time at his mother’s clinic, and always looked forward to going there after school to watch her work (and to play with the cool gadgets, of course).
