He completed both his Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) and Master of Public Health (M.P.H.) degrees at the University of Alberta, where he also played football for the Golden Bears. He later attended the renowned Howard University College of Dentistry (HUCD) in Washington, D.C., earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.).
