Their FAQ

Answers from their website.

Do you direct bill to insurance?

Yes, at South Edmonton Common Dental Choice, our dental clinic in Edmonton provides direct billing for most insurance providers. Please remember to bring your insurance card or policy information to your appointment so we can handle the claim for you.

Do you accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?

Yes, our clinic accepts the Canadian Dental Care Plan to help our patients maintain good oral health at an affordable cost. Kindly let us know when booking your appointment so we can arrange appropriate billing.

Do you have a cancellation policy?

Yes, we set aside dedicated time with our dentists and hygienists specifically for your care. If you’re unable to attend your appointment, we kindly ask that you provide at least 2 business days’ notice. Please contact our office, and our team will be happy to help you reschedule.

Do you follow the provincial dental fee guide?

Yes, our clinic follows the Alberta Dental Fee Guide, which is published annually on January 1st by the Alberta Dental Association and College. Most dental offices use this guide to set their fees, and it also serves as a reference for many insurance providers when determining coverage amounts.

What should I know for my first appointment?

We recommend arriving 5–10 minutes early for your first appointment to allow time for check-in and any necessary paperwork. Please bring your health card, insurance information, and any recent dental records or x-rays you may have. This helps us better understand your dental history and provide you with the best possible care.

Is sedation dentistry safe for everyone?

Sedation dentistry near you is safe when performed by trained professionals. We will review your medical history and current health to determine whether or not suggesting sedation would be appropriate. Certain medical conditions can affect which sedation method is right for you, but sedation dentistry is very safe for most people!

Will I be completely asleep during my treatment?

No, with our sedation options, you stay awake but feel very relaxed and drowsy. You can still respond to our dentist’s instructions, but you won’t feel anxious or uncomfortable during the procedure.

How long do the effects of sedation last?

This depends on the type of sedation used. Nitrous oxide wears off within minutes after we remove the mask. Oral sedation can last several hours, so you’ll need someone to drive you home and stay with you until the effects wear off completely.
