Their FAQ

Answers from their website.

Are dental sedatives safe?

Sedatives are generally safe when they are administered in a clinical environment by professionals trained in sedation. Patients who suffer from sleep apnea or who are overweight may be at risk of complications. Talk to your dentist about any concerns you may have.

What is IV sedation?

IV or Intravenous sedation provides a deep level of relaxation. IV sedatives are given through a tube placed in a vein in your arm. The sedative takes effect very quickly. Most patients are unaware of their surroundings and have no memory of their treatment while they are sedated.

Why do I need a drive home after sedation?

Sedatives can slow your reaction times and impair your judgement, making it dangerous for you to operate a motor vehicle. You could also face charges for impaired driving if you are stopped by police or involved in an accident. It’s better to let someone else do the driving so you arrive home safely.

How do I know if I have an infection in or near my tooth?

Common symptoms of infection include sensitivity to pressure, heat and cold, sore or bleeding gums, or a sharp toothache. Infections can also occur without any symptoms, so it’s important to see your dentist for regular dental examinations.

How long does root canal treatment last?

A restored tooth should stay healthy for a lifetime if it isn’t injured or damaged by decay. The crown may need to be replaced every 10 to 20 years.

How do I care for the tooth and crown after my root canal?

Your restored tooth is still vulnerable to tooth decay, so brush and floss it just as you would your natural teeth.

Am I at risk of developing TMJ disorder?

The major risk factors for TMJ disorder are arthritis, jaw injuries, clenching or grinding teeth, chewing your fingernails or excessively chewing gum, misaligned teeth or bite, and connective tissue disease in the temporomandibular joint. Speak to your dentist to learn more.

What can I do at home to manage TMJ disorder symptoms?

If you are experiencing jaw pain, you may be able to find relief by gently massaging the muscles around your jaws. A warm or cold compress placed over the affected area may also help. Relaxing your jaw muscles can also bring relief. To relax your jaws, open your mouth so your teeth are slightly apart, and rest your tongue on the floor of your mouth. It can also help to reduce stress on your jaws by avoiding hard, sticky, or chewy foods.
