A Global Journey, Rooted in Care Born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq, Dr. Rand Luka’s path to dentistry has taken him across continents—but it’s always been grounded in one constant: a deep desire to help people. After graduating from the University of Baghdad in 1999, he practiced in hospital-based settings, gaining a wide range of clinical experience—especially in surgical care. In 2008, Dr. Luka and his family immigrated to Canada as skilled workers, eventually settling in London after he was accepted into the dental equivalency program at Western University. He earned his Canadian DDS in 2013 and was awarded the prestigious Dr. Glenn Walker Award, recognizing his leadership, clinical skill, and compassionate approach to patient care.

From Track Star to Trusted Dentist Dr. Alyson Kohlmeier was born and raised in Sarnia, Ontario, where her path to dentistry began with something a little unexpected—competitive running. A standout student-athlete at St. Patrick’s High School, she earned a scholarship to the University of Michigan, where she spent five years as a member of the cross-country and track & field teams. During her athletic career, Dr. Kohlmeier earned several Big Ten titles, was named an ESPN Academic All-American, and represented Team Canada internationally.
