Their FAQ

Answers from their website.

What is sedation dentistry?

Sedation dentistry uses safe medications to help patients relax and stay comfortable during dental procedures. It can range from mild relaxation with laughing gas to deeper forms such as IV sedation or general anesthesia.

Who can benefit from sedation dentistry?

Sedation is ideal for patients who feel anxious about dental visits, have a low pain threshold, require lengthy or complex treatments, or struggle to sit still during procedures. It’s also helpful for children or adults with dental phobia.

What are the different types of sedation available?

Options include minimal sedation with laughing gas, oral sedation in pill form, IV sedation for stronger relaxation, and general anesthesia for complete unconsciousness. Your dentist will recommend the most suitable type based on your treatment and medical history.

Is sedation dentistry safe?

Yes, when administered by trained professionals, sedation is very safe. At 7 Days Dental, patients are carefully monitored throughout the procedure to ensure safety and comfort. Your medical history and weight are reviewed to determine the safest dosage.

Will I be asleep during sedation?

Not always. With laughing gas or oral sedation, you remain awake but very relaxed. IV sedation may cause you to feel drowsy and forget the procedure. General anesthesia is the only form where you are completely asleep.

How long do the effects of sedation last?

The effects vary depending on the type used. Laughing gas wears off quickly, often within minutes. Oral and IV sedation may take several hours to fade, so you’ll need someone to drive you home. General anesthesia recovery may take longer.

Are there any side effects of sedation dentistry?

Some patients may experience temporary drowsiness, slower reflexes, or mild nausea. These effects usually wear off within a few hours. Serious side effects are rare when sedation is administered and monitored properly.

What is a dental cap and how is it different from a crown?

A dental cap and a dental crown are the same thing, terms used interchangeably. Both describe a custom-made covering placed over a damaged or weakened tooth to restore its shape, strength, and appearance.
