Their FAQ

Answers from their website.

Do I Qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan?

You may qualify for the Canadian Dental Care Plan if you meet all four eligibility requirements: You do not have access to private dental insurance or coverage. You and your spouse or common-law partner, if applicable, have filed your Canadian tax returns. Your adjusted family net income is less than $90,000. You are a Canadian resident for tax purposes. Having dental coverage through a provincial, territorial, or federal social program does not necessarily prevent you from qualifying.

How Much Does the Canadian Dental Care Plan Cover?

The percentage covered depends on your adjusted family net income: Lower than $70,000: The CDCP covers 100% of eligible costs at CDCP-established fees. $70,000 to $79,999: The CDCP covers 60%, and you pay a 40% co-payment. $80,000 to $89,999: The CDCP covers 40%, and you pay a 60% co-payment. $90,000 or more: You are not eligible for the CDCP. Even with 100% coverage, you may still have additional costs if the dental office charges more than the CDCP-established fee or if you receive a service that is not covered.

How Do I Apply for the Canadian Dental Care Plan?

You must apply directly through the Government of Canada. You may need your Social Insurance Number, date of birth, address, tax information, and information about your spouse or common-law partner, if applicable. Once approved, you will receive your member ID and coverage start date.

Which Dental Services May Be Covered?

Depending on your needs and CDCP guidelines, eligible services may include: Dental exams and X-rays Dental cleanings and fluoride treatments Sealants Permanent and temporary fillings Root canal treatments Gum disease treatment Crowns in eligible cases Complete and partial dentures Tooth extractions and certain oral surgeries Some sedation and anesthesia services Coverage may be subject to clinical criteria, frequency limits, or preauthorization.

Do All Dental Offices Accept the CDCP?

No. Participation in the Canadian Dental Care Plan is voluntary. Contact Dr. Shora Dental before booking to confirm participation and discuss your coverage.

How Can I Book an Appointment With CDCP Coverage?

Contact Dr. Shora Dental to schedule an appointment and let our team know that you have CDCP coverage. Please have your CDCP member ID and coverage start date available. Before treatment, our team can submit an estimate to confirm your active coverage, eligible services, and potential out-of-pocket costs.

How often should I have my teeth professionally cleaned?

Most patients benefit from a professional dental cleaning every six months, although some individuals may require more frequent visits based on their oral health needs.

Do dental cleanings hurt?

Routine dental cleanings are generally comfortable. If you have sensitive teeth or inflamed gums, our team uses gentle techniques to help keep you comfortable.
