Dr. Aatika Ahmed was born in Montreal and raised in Ottawa. She completed her dental education (D.M.D) at McGill University. Prior to this, she completed her Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree with Summa Cum Laude distinction and Master of Science (MSc.) degree at University of Ottawa. Dr. Ahmed has received various awards throughout her undergraduate and graduate studies including Dean’s Honour list, Ontario Graduate Scholarship (OGS), Queen Elizabeth’s Scholarship in Science and Technology (OGSST), University of Ottawa's Dean’s and Excellence scholarship.
