Do I need a referral to use the CDCP?
No referral is needed. Simply book an appointment with us and bring your CDCP member card.
Can I use the CDCP if I have partial private insurance?
No. If you have any access to private dental insurance — even if it doesn't cover everything — you are not eligible for the CDCP.
What if I haven't received an invitation letter yet?
The rollout is phased. If you believe you're eligible but haven't received a letter, check canada.ca/dental for the latest information on when your group can apply.
Is orthodontic treatment covered?
Orthodontic treatment (braces, aligners) is generally not covered under the CDCP for adults. Some limited orthodontic services may be covered for children — ask us for details.
How do I know how much I'll owe at my appointment?
We'll review your coverage with you before treatment and let you know your estimated co-payment (if any) based on your income level. There are no surprises.
How often should I come in for a checkup?
Most patients benefit from a checkup and cleaning every six months. If you have a history of gum disease or other concerns, we may recommend more frequent visits.
Are digital X-rays safe?
Yes — digital X-rays emit significantly less radiation than traditional film X-rays and are considered very safe for patients of all ages, including children.
Do you see children?
Absolutely. We love seeing young patients and work hard to make their visits positive and fun. We recommend a child's first visit around age one or when their first tooth appears.
