Their FAQ

Answers from their website.

Can I get emergency dental care in North York?

Yes. If you’re dealing with severe pain, swelling, bleeding, or a broken/injured tooth, contact One Dental North York for urgent care options.

What should I do if my tooth is knocked out?

Time matters. If possible:Hold the tooth by the crownRinse gently with water if it’s dirty (don’t scrub)If you can, place it back in the socketIf not, keep it in milk (or a tooth preservation solution)Then call an emergency dentist immediately.

Is an emergency dentist only for broken teeth?

Not at all. Emergency dentists also help with tooth infections, swelling, abscesses, lost fillings/crowns, and dental trauma—anything causing urgent pain or risk of complications.

Should I wait for my regular dentist appointment?

If you have swelling, fever, worsening pain, uncontrolled bleeding, or signs of infection, waiting is not recommended. Emergency care is there to prevent the problem from getting worse.

Will I need a root canal?

Maybe—but not always. A toothache can happen for many reasons (cracks, gum issues, lost fillings, infection). After an exam and X-rays, One Dental North York can recommend the correct treatment.

What can I do at home while waiting?

You can help reduce discomfort:Warm salt-water rinsesCold compress for swellingStick to soft foods and avoid chewing on that sideFor pain medicine, follow the label directions and consider asking a healthcare professional if you have medical conditions or take blood thinners.

How quickly will I feel better?

Many patients feel relief once the urgent issue is treated (especially with swelling or exposed tooth structure). Timing depends on what’s causing the problem.
