Rinse your mouth with warm water, floss to remove trapped food, take an over-the-counter pain reliever, and schedule an appointment with your dentist as soon as possible.
How can I prevent cavities and gum disease?
Brush your teeth at least twice a day with fluoride toothpaste, floss daily, maintain a balanced diet, avoid sugary snacks and drinks, and visit your dentist regularly.
What are the signs of gum disease?
Signs include red, swollen, or bleeding gums, persistent bad breath, receding gums, and loose teeth. Consult your dentist promptly if noticed.
