Their FAQ

Answers from their website.

How do I switch my family to Bay Wellesley Dental?

Please call our dental clinic at +1 416 920 5777, or email us at app@baywellesleydental.com. Our team will take care of the process including requesting records from your previous provider.

Do you accept the Canada Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?

Yes, we accept and direct bill the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP). We help eligible patients get access to affordable care.

What are your office hours?

We are open Monday to Friday from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM and Saturdays from 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM. Closed on Sundays.

What does the New Patient Exam consist of? Is it covered under my insurance?

During your new patient exam our doctors will do a very thorough exam. Also, we will take photos and any necessary radiographs, and our doctors will review these with you. Afterwards, our doctors will customize a treatment plan for you. Often, insurance companies cover a portion of this visit. *We do not know in advance what services (if any) YOUR insurance company will cover. We can only guess based on what other patients’ insurance companies have done in the past. All insurance companies (as well as the hundreds of different plans within each individual insurance company) vary on what they will or will not cover.

How does direct billing to my insurance work?

Bay Wellesley Dental is proud to offer our dental patients who have confirmed dental insurance the ability to use their coverage immediately at an appointment. Please make sure to give our dental staff your primary and secondary insurance plan number, breakdown, and remaining annual coverage, and we can save you from paying out of pocket and waiting for a reimbursement cheque.

Are dental payment plans available?

We are committed to create spectacular dental results. To help our patients, we offer 0% interest dental financing.

I am terrified of going to the dentist, but I have a lot of work that needs to be done. Aside from ‘knocking me out’ is there anything that can be done for me?

You are not alone in feeling this way. Millions of Canadians feel tremendous anxiety concerning dental treatment. Fear, coupled with embarrassment and shame, has kept nearly half of all Canadians from seeking necessary treatment for years, even decades. Fortunately, dental phobia doesn’t have to keep you away from the dentist any longer. Amenities like laughing gas, TVs, and more conservative, gentle procedures will help take the edge off. For some fearful patients, an anti-anxiety pill will do just fine. Most patients snooze through the appointment and feel no discomfort. Years of dental neglect are erased in just one appointment. Once-fearful and embarrassed patients chew without pain and smile with confidence for the first time in years! These benefits are often life-changing for people who have procrastinated getting their mouths healthy or enhancing their smiles.

How much is a cleaning?

No two mouths are the same! Everyone has different needs and there is no ‘flat’ rate on scaling appointments. The cost strictly depends on the current health of your teeth and gums. We begin our new patient hygiene appointments with the charting of the pockets (space between gums and tooth), bleeding upon probing, mobility and recession. Keep in mind “healthy gums don’t bleed…even with our special measuring dental tool. This in- depth ‘gum assessment’ helps the dentist and hygienist determine your current ‘periodontal status’ also known as health of your gums. We then will inform you how much time (and possibly how many appointments) it will take to get your gums and teeth back to a state of health! One of our caring team members will be glad to discuss this with you.
