Their FAQ
Answers from their website.
Can you eat before dental sedation?
Yes, most patients are able to eat before undergoing dental sedation. A small lunch a few hours before your treatment is recommended by Dr. Sobhi. That said, if you want to be sedated with laughing gas, we suggest that you avoid eating a large meal before treatment because nitrous oxide can make some people queasy.
Can patients talk during conscious dental sedation?
Patients who are sedated but awake can frequently speak and respond to verbal cues throughout their procedure and express any discomfort they may be experiencing.
How long does dental sedation stay in the patient’s system?
Nitrous oxide wears off within minutes of the mask being removed from your nose, but the full effects of other forms of dental sedation usually take 24 hours to wear off. Please stay at home and avoid driving during this period.
Do you feel pain with oral sedation?
Conscious oral sedation allows you to feel relaxed during your procedure, but local anesthesia is used to eliminate pain. We use the two together to ensure that you’re calm and comfortable while Dr. Sobhi works.
Are you asleep during IV sedation?
With IV sedation, you feel as if you’re asleep, but technically, you’re still conscious. This is a good thing—it means you’re able to breathe on your own, which is what makes IV sedation safer than general anesthesia. With general anesthesia, you are fully unconscious and require breathing support.

Do porcelain veneers ruin your teeth?
One of the most frequently asked questions about veneers is if they ruin your teeth. The answer is no—veneer preparation requires a tooth reduction of only 1-1.5 mm. While this can vary, particularly when veneers are being used to correct alignment or positioning, even when more enamel is removed, it’s still not enough to compromise the health of a tooth.
What are the pros and cons of porcelain veneers?
The pros of porcelain veneers include fast treatment time, the ability to fix most aesthetic concerns, high rates of patient satisfaction, and dramatic smile makeover results. The cons of porcelain veneers are the expense and the fact that they are irreversible—once you have veneers, you will always need them.
