Their FAQ
Answers from their website.
What does CDCP cover?
CDCP covers preventive services (examinations, cleanings, fluoride), basic treatments (fillings, simple extractions, root canal treatment), major services (crowns, dentures), and oral surgery. Some services require preauthorization.
What will my coverage include?
As a dentist accepting CDCP in the Yonge and St. Clair area, we verify your specific coverage and explain any co-payments based on your family income. We handle all billing directly with Sun Life to make the process simple.
How do I know if my treatment is covered?
We verify your coverage before treatment and handle preauthorization for major services. You'll know your expected costs before we begin.
Does CDCP cover root canals?
Yes. The federal program lists root canal treatments as a covered endodontic service, along with pulpectomies and procedures to reduce infection and relieve pain. Re-treatment of a previously completed root canal requires preauthorization, as do services that go beyond the plan's frequency limits, so we submit that request and confirm the decision before starting. The plan pays a portion of the cost rather than the full amount, and any co-payment depends on your adjusted family net income. When will CDCP cover orthodontics?
Not yet. The federal program page lists orthodontic services as not currently available, states that a specific range of orthodontic services will be added at a date still to be determined, and confirms preauthorization will be required once they are. We will update this page when the government announces a date. Do you serve CDCP patients in my area?
Yes. St. Clair Dental is at Yonge and St. Clair, steps from the Yonge-St. Clair subway station, and we welcome patients from Rosedale, Summerhill, Deer Park, Moore Park, and the surrounding Midtown Toronto neighbourhoods.
What should I expect for emergency treatment?
Emergency visits include thorough examination, necessary X-rays, and immediate treatment to address your urgent needs. We provide detailed treatment plans.
How quickly can you see me?
Emergency patients are seen the same day. For severe pain or trauma, we welcome walk-ins — call ahead if possible.
