Their FAQ
Answers from their website.
Is my dental insurance estimate guaranteed?
A standard estimate is highly reliable but not a guarantee — insurers don't disclose every plan detail to dental offices. For a near-guaranteed number, ask Blooming Dental to submit an EOB (pre-determination) to your insurer. It takes 4–6 weeks but removes almost all uncertainty.
Why did I get a dental bill after being told I was covered?
Common causes include plan-specific exclusions the dental office couldn't see, treatment earlier in the year at another office that used part of your coverage, or the insurer paying a different fee-guide amount than expected. Blooming Dental offers billing reviews to walk through the exact difference with you.
What is an EOB or pre-determination in dental insurance?
An EOB (Explanation of Benefits), also called a pre-determination, is a written response from your insurance company confirming what they'll pay for specific procedure codes, requested before treatment. It's recommended for major, non-urgent treatment when cost certainty matters more than starting quickly.
Does Blooming Dental offer direct billing?
Yes, both the Port Coquitlam and Dunbar (Vancouver) offices offer direct billing. Blooming Dental submits to your insurer and you pay only your portion.
What insurance plans does Blooming Dental accept?
Blooming Dental works with most major Canadian dental insurance providers. Contact either office with your plan details to confirm before your first visit.
Can a dental office tell me exactly what my plan covers?
A dental office can see what your insurer discloses to it — coverage percentages, annual maximum, and frequency limits. Your insurer will share more complete details with you directly than with any dental office.
What if I don't have dental insurance?
Patients without insurance always receive a written estimate before treatment, with fees following the BC fee guide. Treatment sequencing options are available if budget is a concern.
