Their FAQ
Answers from their website.
What makes Transcend different from a general dental office?
Transcend is a multi-specialty practice. Our team includes prosthodontists, a periodontist, and an orthodontist. Every case is planned and delivered by specialists, not general dentists. We also have an in-house dental laboratory, which means your restorations are designed and crafted in the same building where you're treated, with direct collaboration between your specialist and our lab team.
Do I need a referral to see a specialist?
No. Patients can come to us directly. No referral is needed. That said, we're also happy to work alongside your general dentist and keep them informed throughout your care.
How do I know which specialist I need?
You don't need to know beforehand. During your consultation, we'll evaluate your situation and recommend the right specialist, or combination of specialists, based on your needs and goals.
Do you treat children?
Our practice focuses primarily on adult patients. In certain cases, such as a child who has broken a front tooth or needs specialist-level care from a prosthodontist, periodontist, or orthodontist, we're happy to help. Our orthodontist's practice is focused on adult orthodontics.
Do you offer virtual consultations?
Yes. Virtual consultations are available for anyone who would like one, and are especially helpful for patients traveling from out of town. We can evaluate your situation, discuss your goals, and develop a preliminary plan before you visit in person.
Do you see patients from outside Vancouver?
Yes. Patients travel to Transcend from across Canada and around the world. Our concierge team can assist with scheduling, accommodations, and transportation to make your visit seamless.
Do you handle dental emergencies?
Our practice is focused on planned specialist care rather than emergency dentistry. If you're an existing patient and experience an urgent issue, please contact us directly. Otherwise, we recommend reaching out to your general dentist for emergency care.
What happens at the first consultation?
Your consultation is 60 to 90 minutes, unhurried and thorough. One of our specialists will examine your teeth, gums, and bite, take any necessary imaging, and discuss your goals. You'll leave with a clear, personalized treatment plan.
