Their FAQ

Answers from their website.

What Are the Benefits Of Cosmetic Dentistry?

While general dentistry focuses on prioritizing your oral health by concentrating on things like dental hygiene, treating oral disease and preventative care, cosmetic dentistry takes it one step further by also focusing on the overall appearance of your mouth. At Dawson Dental Centre, cosmetic dentistry procedures focus on colour, shape, position, gaps, size and teeth alignment, with an emphasis on enhancing the overall look of your teeth and smile. We offer an extensive range of cosmetic dentistry options to help you achieve the smile you have always desired.

Why Should I See a Cosmetic Dentist?

If you are dreaming of a white, bright, beautiful and healthy smile, cosmetic dentistry might be right for you. The Dawson Dental Centre Burnaby team offers a wide variety of cosmetic dental treatments including teeth whitening, tooth colour match fillings and porcelain veneers, to help you achieve the smile you have always wanted.

How Long Will Each Cosmetic Treatment Take?

The length of cosmetic treatment will vary from procedure to procedure and will be dependent on the involvement of the treatment itself, as well as the condition of the patient.

How Do I Choose the Right Cosmetic Dentist?

If you are looking to enhance your overall smile, Dawson Dental Centre is here to help. Our Burnaby professional dental team offers a wide range of cosmetic dentistry treatments to help you achieve the smile you have always wanted. Through a combination of science and artistry, we can help you achieve the smile you have always dreamed of.

Will My Dental Insurance Cover Cosmetic Dentistry Procedures?

Dental insurance is intended to cover some, but not all, of the costs of your dental care. Dental plans can vary, and some treatment plans may not be eligible or fully reimbursable. At Dawson Dental Centre, we help assist you in navigating and understanding coverage details. However, it is ultimately your responsibility to understand what your individual plan allows.

When Is Wisdom Tooth Extraction Necessary?

Wisdom teeth may need to be extracted for a variety of reasons. If there is not enough room in the back of the mouth for wisdom teeth to erupt properly, this can lead to gum soreness and eventually intense pain. Impacted wisdom teeth (trapped in gums or jawbone) are difficult to clean and vulnerable to tooth decay, infection, and gum disease. Wisdom teeth that erupt only partially through the gums can result in crowding issues that affect neighboring teeth. Your Dawson Dental Centre dentist can provide an assessment to determine if surgical removal is the best course of action. Dentists can often foresee future concerns and recommend removal before problems arise.

What should I be careful of after a tooth extraction?

Following a tooth extraction, you might experience some discomfort and swelling. This can usually be managed by gently pressing a cold cloth or ice pack to your face or with over-the-counter pain medication. It is important to take time to rest, avoid strenuous activity for a few days, and only consume soft or liquid food.

Is Tooth Removal Painful?

When wisdom teeth are extracted, your mouth will be fully numbed at the surgical site. If you are awake without sedation, you may feel some mild pressure. Most patients choose to have sedation during wisdom teeth removal and often remember very little about the procedure. Dawson Dental Centre is committed to ensuring patients remain as comfortable as possible.
