Dr. Woo is a 3rd generation Vancouverite graduated from Science at UBC in 1985. After receiving his DMD from UBC in 1989 Dr. Woo entered a dental residency program at the UBC Hospital during which he developed a keen interest in advanced oral surgical procedures. For ten years Dr. Woo was a clinical instructor at UBC Dentistry Department of Oral Diagnosis. He has been placing and restoring various types of dental implants since 1999. He has successfully obtained both fellowship and diplomat standing from the world recognized International Congress of Oral Implantology (ICOI). Dr. Yung received her Science degree from UBC in 1986 with honours. Four years later, she graduated from UBC Dentistry and received awards in Periodontics, Pedodontics and Endodontics. She worked for the Burnaby School Board dental clinic for over four years focusing on treating children from 4 to 6 years of age. She was also the clinical instructor at UBC Pediatric Dentistry Department for 4 years. Her love of learning continues as she has been actively involved in a number of study clubs. These include participating in an advanced orthodontic study club for over 20 years, a periodontal surgery study club mentored by Dr. Jim Grisdale, a prosthodontic gold restoration study club with Dr. Ted Ramage for 3 years and another 3 years at Dr. Karateew’s Renaissance Implant study club. Dr. Hallie spent four years studying at the University of Sydney in Australia to gain her Doctor of Dental Medicine. She may have recently returned to Canada, but she is no stranger to our family practice. During her undergraduate studies, she worked part time as a receptionist, dental assistant and sedation assistant; but two decades before that she was even “employed” as Dental Laser Esthetics’ shortest and youngest office greeter. She is passionate about community work. This ties into many of her experiences and interests. In 2017, as an undergraduate, she participated in a dental mission to San Quintin Mexico.
