Their FAQ
Answers from their website.
Is Richmond Dental Care actually downtown, or on Yonge Street like most Richmond Hill dentists?
We're on Richmond St, right in the historic downtown core near Yonge and Major Mackenzie, not out in one of the busy Yonge Street plazas most people picture when they think of a Richmond Hill dentist. If you already work, shop, or live downtown, it's a short walk instead of a drive across town. That makes it easy to pop in before work, on a lunch break, or after running errands nearby.
Is there parking near your office, or is it a downtown-only walk-in situation?
Yes — there's free parking right at the office, so you won't be circling downtown looking for a spot or feeding a meter. We're close to Yonge and Major Mackenzie, right in the heart of Richmond Hill, and parking is part of what makes this location easy for patients coming from nearby offices, shops, or homes. You can pull in, park, and walk straight into your appointment without extra stress.
I get anxious at the dentist — do you actually offer sedation, or just say you do?
We offer real sedation options, including nitrous oxide and oral sedation, specifically for patients who've been avoiding the dentist because of anxiety or a bad past experience. It's worth mentioning your anxiety when you book so we can plan the visit around what actually keeps you calm and comfortable, rather than just talking you through it in the chair.
Are veneers something you do in-house, or do you refer that out to a specialist?
Veneers are done right here at our Richmond Hill office. We evaluate your teeth, talk through shade and shape with you based on what you want your smile to look like, and handle the entire process ourselves rather than sending you elsewhere for the cosmetic work and back again for fitting.
Do you do dental crowns, or mainly just cleanings and fillings?
Crowns are a regular part of what we do, whether it's protecting a tooth after a root canal or rebuilding one that's cracked, worn down, or weakened by a large filling. During your exam, we'll walk you through the material options and what each one costs, so you know exactly what you're getting before treatment starts.
How experienced are the dentists at Richmond Dental Care?
Dr. Walter Jurczak has been practicing since graduating from the University of Toronto's dental program back in 1964, and some of his patients today are the third generation of their family to sit in his chair. Between his decades of experience and the rest of the team, you're not handing your smile to someone still figuring things out.
There are three dentists listed on your site — how do I know which one I'll actually see?
You can request a specific dentist when you book, whether that's based on a referral, a particular treatment you need, or just wanting to stick with someone you've seen before. If you don't have a preference, we'll match you with whoever fits your appointment time and the type of care you're coming in for.
Do you handle wisdom tooth extractions, or do you send those to an oral surgeon?
Straightforward extractions, including most wisdom teeth, are handled right in our office. If your case turns out to be more complex, like impacted teeth needing a surgical referral, we'll tell you that upfront during the exam instead of starting treatment we're not set up to finish.
