Dr. Jason Chen was born in Taiwan but grew up in Vancouver and speaks fluent Mandarin. He completed his B.Sc. in Biochemistry and received his DMD from the University of British Columbia. Following graduation at UBC, Dr. Chen moved to Bronx, New York to complete his studies in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Montefiore Medical Center/Albert Einstein College of Medicine. Montefiore is the largest OMFS training program in the United States, doing more than 2300 sedations and placing over 3000 implants each year. Dr. Chen gained experience using a variety of advanced techniques to aid traditional alveolar augmentation methods for implant surgery and major reconstruction. He was appointed to the Department of Anesthesiology at Shaughnessy Hospital and to the Faculty of Medicine at UBC, and is a member of the Department of Anesthesiology at Surrey Memorial Hospital, where he spends most of his time working when he’s not at PCOMS.
