Their FAQ

Answers from their website.

Does Bay Dental accept the Canadian Dental Care Plan (CDCP)?

Yes. Bay Dental Centre is a registered CDCP provider. Call (604) 569-0099 to book or confirm your coverage. No referral needed.

Does Bay Dental direct bill insurance (assignment based)?

Yes. Bay Dental direct bills all major dental insurance plans. Bring your insurance information to your appointment and the front desk takes care of the claim. If you are not sure whether your plan supports assignment (direct billing), call ahead and we will confirm before you come in.

How much does dental care cost at Bay Dental?

Costs vary by procedure. Before any work starts, Bay Dental provides a clear estimate. CDCP patients pay nothing upfront for covered procedures. Patients with private insurance are direct billed. If you have no coverage, ask for an estimate before your appointment. Bay Dental does not recommend treatment you do not need. We will only do treatment you have given consent for.

What dental services does Bay Dental offer?

Bay Dental offers examinations, oral cancer screenings, fillings, crowns and bridges, root canals, extractions, dental implants, mouthguards (nightguards), periodontal surgery, non-surgical periodontal therapy, teeth whitening (Zoom and take-home), Invisalign, and veneers. The practice also offers TMJ assessment and treatment, children's dentistry, CDCP acceptance, and direct billing for all major insurance plans. Bay Dental practices with Bay Wellness Centre, which offers Naturopathic care, Acupuncture treatments, and Chiropractic care from specialized practitioners.

Why do patients choose Bay Dental Centre?

Bay Dental has been open since 1986. Dr. Maycher graduated from the Faculty of Dentistry at the University of Manitoba, taught dentistry there for eight years, and served as a long-time member of the Dentistry Ethics Committee in Manitoba. He has also been a part-time clinical instructor at the UBC Faculty of Dentistry and the University of Manitoba. Dr. Tu holds a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Sydney, where he was awarded the Dr. John Mayne Prize for proficiency in Endodontics, and speaks Vietnamese and Cantonese. The practice philosophy is built around doing only what the patient needs and wants. Costs are discussed before work starts, and patients are never pushed toward treatment they do not need.

Does Bay Dental offer care in languages other than English?

Yes. Apart from English, our team also communicates in Vietnamese, Cantonese, Japanese, Korean, Punjabi, and Hindi. If you or a family member feels more comfortable in another language, let us know when you book and we will do our best to accommodate you.

Does Bay Dental offer emergency or same-day appointments?

Yes. If you are dealing with dental pain, a broken tooth, or an infection, call us directly at (604) 569-0099. We make every effort to see urgent cases the same day.

How do I book an appointment at Bay Dental?

Call (604) 569-0099, email contact@baydentalcentre.com, or book online at baydentalcentre.com/book-online/. Let the receptionist know what you need when you reach out, including whether you are a CDCP patient or have something urgent.
