North Shore Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (Dr. Richard Chau)

CERTIFIED SPECIALIST IN ORAL & MAXILLOFACIAL SURGERY Dr. Richard Chau completed his residency in oral and maxillofacial surgery and medical degree at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Chau received extensive training in all areas of the specialty. He also completed a one-year general practice residency in dentistry at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center after obtaining his dental degree from the University of British Columbia (UBC). Dr. Chau also held a dental and medical license in Nebraska prior to returning to BC. Dr. Chau has an interest in education and teaching, and is currently a part-time Clinical Assistant Professor in the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the Faculty of Dentistry at UBC. Certified specialist in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Dr. Brad Forster was born and raised on the North Shore. He studied biology at Capilano College and UBC before traveling east to enroll in Dentistry at the University of Toronto. After graduating with honors and completing an internship at St. Michaels Hospital in Toronto, he returned to North Vancouver to practice general dentistry. Two years later, he returned to Toronto to enter a residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery which he completed in 1990, and then wrote, and passed the Canadian and British Columbian Specialty board examinations. Dr. Forster has been practicing in North Vancouver ever since, performing approximately 1,300 surgeries per year.
